I'm all over Kazaa right now checking out some music recommended by Joshua Ellis of Zenarchery fame. In his Citylife column he talks about the musical soundtrack for the 21st century and he lists a few albums that he would include. So far, with the exception of David Bowie, they all feel to slow, to laid back. Don't get me wrong, everyone of the albums mentioned is a great one, they just don't fit my vision of futuristic music. I imagine it faster and harder, visions of the bloodbath club scene from Blade dance in my head. Or Mos Def and Massive Attack 'I Against I' , Rammstein 'Feuer Frei', etc. Mean music. Fighting music. My view of the future is a dark, post apocolyptic one. Two different futures require two different soundtracks.
